AP Statistics is a one-term course in statistics. The course is designed to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: exploring data, planning a study, probability and statistical inference. Students who successfully complete the course and examination may receive credit and/or advanced placement for a one-semester introductory college statistics course. This course is available for students who want to expand their mathematical knowledge past Algebra 2, but do not necessarily plan on taking the Calculus courses.
