Prerequisite: “C” or better grade in CP Biology and Integrated Math 1.
Recommendation: Good mathematics, algebra, and abstract (geometric) thinking skills, and writing skills required.
This course is designed to provide college preparatory students with mathematical and laboratory-oriented instruction in basic chemistry. Topics studied include the trends and structure of the periodic table, atomic structure, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, kinetic theory of matter and thermochemistry, gases, solutions, reaction rates, and chemical equilibrium.
The 2018-2019 school year will be the last offering of this course. RJUHSD is transitioning to new standards and courses. NGSS Physics and NGSS Chemistry will be replacing these classes. Please see your counselor for more information.
