AVID students challenge themselves academically in order to be eligible
for four-year university.
Students will focus
on transitioning to high school life and improving the foundational learning
skills necessary for a college preparatory curriculum. Students will develop
writing, inquiry, collaboration, and reading skills along with binder
organization, note-taking, time management, goal setting, and college
exploration. Students engage in collaborative tutorial sessions to gain a
greater understanding of material in their content area classes. This is not a
time spent doing homework.
