Course Description:
AVID 10 is an academic elective designed to prepare students for entrance into four-year universities. The course emphasizes Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR).
Expectations of an AVID Student:

Earn at least C’s in rigorous, college preparatory classes. Colleges will not accept D’s or F’s. Arrangements for additional academic assistance are available.

Maintain good attendance. Only properly excused absences will be accepted.

Complete all homework. Get make-up work for excused absences and field trips. For each day absent, one day to complete make-up work is allowed.

For major assignments/projects (when the due date is known in advance) turn in assignments on-time.

Maintain an organized binder with appropriate notes and learning logs.

Have tutorial request forms completed on time and actively participate in tutorial groups.

Demonstrate respectful behavior.
