AP Computer Science Principles is a new course designed to be the equivalent of a first-semester introductory college computing course. Students in Computer Science Principles will explore the seven big ideas of computing: creativity, abstraction, data and information, algorithms, programming, the Internet, and global impact of technology. Students work in teams to develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills. The course does not aim to teach mastery of a single programming language but aims instead to develop computational thinking, to generate excitement about the field of computing, and to introduce tools that foster creativity. With a unique focus on creative problem solving and real-world applications, AP Computer Science Principles prepares students for both college and career. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the course will introduce students to the creative aspects of programming, abstractions, algorithms, large data sets, the Internet, cyber security concerns,
