Important Info about CAASPP Testing

April 6th, 2021

Dear GBHS Students and Families:

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) will be administered to all 11th grade students on April 13th  for English Language Arts (ELA).  The Math and California Science Test (CAST) will be administered on April 15th.   For more information see the message that was sent to 11th grade students and parents  on March 19th.

All 11th grade students not enrolled in RSVLA will be required to test on campus.  Accommodations will be made to ensure as much social distancing as possible.

Please see the schedule below for April 13th and 15th. After checking in with all four teachers for 10 minutes via Zoom (see schedule below),  all juniors who are NOT enrolled in RSVLA should report to school between 9:00 - 9:35 am on April 13th and 15th.  If students do not have transportation at that time, they may arrive before 7:40am and attend their shortened class sessions on campus.

GBHS has long believed that student buy-in is key to any testing success and, to that end, we have them test with their own teachers (as opposed to random last name assignment). Each student will test with their own 2nd Period teacher and in most cases in their own classroom.  If they'll be testing somewhere else, their 2nd Period teacher will tell them in class as to where to go before the testing

Any student enrolled in at least one class at RSVLA will be required to test through RSVLA and they will be communicating their testing dates and schedules with you directly.

9th, 10th, and 12th grade students should Zoom into their shortened class periods to check in with teachers about their asynchronous work for Tuesday and Thursday.  After 8:35am, students will be able to work independently on assignments provided by their teachers.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are normal on campus schedules for all students as noted above.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s participation, please contact Assistant Principal Levirt Griffin at or 916-786-8676 Ext. 5102 no later than April 9th.
