2024-2025 Welcome Back Principals Message
Dear Roseville High School Community,
Welcome to the 2024/2025 school year! It is a privilege to serve as your principal and to embark on this exciting new academic year with our exceptional staff, students, parents, and community.
This is truly one of my favorite times of year. It’s hard to explain, but something special happens in my heart when I walk through stores and see them stocked full of school supplies anticipating the start of a new school year. I hope each of you had a wonderful summer and were able to stay cool during that tremendous heat wave.
If you have not yet visited the campus this summer, you will notice some significant changes when you return to school. We began work on our Campus Renovation Project. The old girl’s gym has been entirely removed, which was a historic moment that left many speechless. The portables have been removed as well, making room for us to add over 100 additional parking spots. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our teachers, custodial, tech, maintenance, and operations staff, as well as the incredible construction crew, for their hard work this summer.
During this school year, we are focusing on WRITING OUR STORY here at Roseville High School! We are the authors - pulling from the chapters of our past, living in the experiences of our present, and innovating for the volumes of our future! This year also marks 25 years of AVID at RHS. We will be spotlighting the AVID strategies of Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR) in each and every classroom, while working together to build thinking classrooms. At RHS, we are continually working in support of our district goals of 1) ensuring all students are college, career, and life ready, 2) closing the achievement gap and promoting educational opportunities for all, and 3) expanding support for students and increasing parent involvement.
We have exceptional academics, advanced placement and dual enrollment opportunities, as well as career preparation programs through our Project Lead the Way and Career Technical Education classes for your student to find their place here at Roseville. We also have a variety of clubs, a vast menu of electives, an all star athletic program, an award winning visual and performing arts department, and student government and leadership opportunities. Our academic interventions, student wellness supports, and enrichment opportunities are in place to ensure that your student is appropriately supported and also challenged in reaching their academic and post secondary goals. We are excited to work with you and your student this year to support them as they take ownership in writing the story of their high school journey.
I am excited for the continued partnership between Roseville High School and you, our parents and guardians. You are an integral and vital part of your student’s success. We value and encourage each of you to continue to be highly involved and connected through open communication, parent-teacher conferences, school site council attendance, parent clubs, booster clubs, school event volunteerism, and most importantly, providing support at home. We cannot do this with you!
Thank you for your continued support and for entrusting us with your students’ education. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
Sincerely,
Ashley Serin
