Each spring, students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses have the opportunity to take and AP examination. A passing score on this exam (a 3, 4 or 5) earns college credit at most colleges and universities. Please check the credit policy at each college or university before signing up for an exam.
AP teachers work throughout the course to prepare all students for the exam. WHS strongly encourages students enrolled in AP courses to plan to take at least one of their AP exams each spring.
Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, the College Board will be changing the exam ordering deadlines. To comply with the new deadlines, RJUHSD will require that all students registered in fall and year long blocked classes register and paid for their AP exams by September 15, 2019. For students who are registered for spring courses, the deadline to register and pay for exams will be February 15, 2020. Please note that for many students this will mean that they have two different registration and payment deadlines.
Unfortunately, due to restrictions on funding, the fee for taking AP Exams will be increasing to $97 and WHS will not be able to offer exam scholarships for students taking multiple exams. WHS will still offer a fee waiver, however, for students who financially qualify.
More information regarding AP Exam payment deadlines will be available when school starts in August.
