• Oakmont High School Safety

    Parents, Guardians, and Community Members:

The overall safety of our staff and students is our top priority.  This school year we will be running monthly safety drills.  These will include fire, evacuation, and lockdown drills. One time a year, a stadium evacuation drill will also be run.  The dates of these drills are randomly selected and not announced ahead of time. Our teachers train their students at the start of each semester how these events will be handled in their classrooms.

If there is an emergency on our campus, and we need to pass information to our families, the website will be updated with key information.  We will also utilize our automated phone calling system with key information.  PLEASE DO NOT call the front desk to ask for updates.  Our staff will be implementing the emergency plan and need open phone lines to communicate with First Responders.

We are always looking for parents to help with the planning and implementation of our safety plan. If you would like to join our safety committee, please call or email Mrs. Winkel (jwinkel@rjuhsd.us or 916-782-3781 x2020).  This committee meets monthly to ensure that our safety goals are met each year.

The Placer County Office of Education produced the video for parents to help prepare them should an active school shooter be present on our campus and what to expect.
