Mr. Cole Oliver
Mr. Cole Oliver, is an Assistant Principal at Oakmont High School. Mr. Oliver grew up in Chico and Sacramento, and went to USC where he earned B.A.s in Political Science and Communication. Mr. Oliver was planning to go to Law School, but found a passion for education so he changed plans and earned his M.A. in Education from LMU.
Mr. Oliver started his career as an international teacher. He taught English in Puerto Varas, Chile, Science in Quito, Ecuador, and was the head of the math department in Doha, Qatar. In 2018 Mr. Oliver returned to the United States and settled in Grante Bay. Since then he has been a math teacher at Sylvan Middle School and Inderkum High School and a TOSA at Discovery High School. Cole's experience working with such a diverse range of students and being billingual has helped him better support all students and families.
Mr. Oliver has been married to his wife, Florencia, since 2011 and has a daughter who earned her M.A. in Special Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis in the summer of 2023 and a son who is abart to start 3rd grade.
Mr. Oliver enjoys travelling and playing golf, basketball, and music. In fact, between his undergraduate and graduate studies and during his time teaching in Doha, Qatar, Mr. Oliver regularly performed live and recorded with different bands. He hopes to get back into it again soon.
