Math has always been a part of my life. I come from a long line of "math people" - accountants, engineers, and architects. Math is something I think comes naturally to me, but mostly because I was surrounded by it on a daily basis. I wasn't always "good at math" and even dropped my math class my senior year swearing that I would never take another math class again. However, I found that the interests I had in college all involved higher level math so I found myself back in the math classroom and finally became a great math student. 

I love being a teacher and have now been teaching longer than my students have been alive! I have watched students grow to enjoy math and love when the mysteries of math one day just click. 

If I wasn't a teacher I would want to be a travel photographer! I have had the blessing of being able to explore a little bit of our world and would LOVE to be paid to explore more. I have lived in Brazil and the United Arab Emirates and traveled through many countries including Jordan, Egypt, the Phillipines, Germany, Poland, and Hungary (to name a few).
