*1st Thing: Parents To-Do List
Parents must complete the following prior to students arriving!
Brand New to West Park: Parent Online Registration
If you are new to West Park, all families must complete the registration process.Data Confirmation
Each and every year, parents must go through the information in their parent portal to ensure that all the information is updated and accurate. Here are some critical steps you should take to help the school in the event of an emergency:- Update your emergency contacts to include neighbors, your child's friend's parents, all adults in the household, or others who may be permitted to pick up your child should you be unable to do so. To make updates, simply login to your Homelink Parent Portal and it will update instantly.
- Update your personal contact information (address, email, phone number) in your Homelink Parent Portal so we can contact you regarding an incident involving your child or for school-wide information.
- Turn "ON" Notifications in ParentSquare. This will alert you instantly when we send a text or email to you in the event of an emergency. (Click on the link for directions.)

Chromebooks (Student Laptops) & Tech Help
-
Located in the Research Lab (Library) inside The Grove.
All students receive a district Chromebook for students to keep for school and home use throughout their enrollment within RJUHSD. It is expected that all students bring their devices to all classes, fully charged, each and every school day.
Laptop Check-Out:
All incoming 9th graders and new RJUHSD students will receive a Chromebook during Panther Pick-Up Days with their Link Crew Leaders. Following pick-up, they will return to their assigned classroom where Link Crew Leaders will assist with onboarding: reset password, where to find the school website, email, grades, and anything else needed to get a jump-start on the new school year.
Any students who already have a device do not need to stop by this station unless they are having technical difficulties.
Any brand new students to our district may stop by the Research Lab/Library to check out a Chromebook and get assistance with onboarding: reset password, where to find email, grades, website, and more!
Can't make it to Panther Pick-Up Days?
Stop by the Research Lab/Library at the end of the school day on the first day of school.

Supplies
In high school, we do not have a grade-level supply list like elementary and middle schools provide. Instead, students will be told during the first week of school what supplies they will need specific to that teacher and course.
Here are a few donations that we know all teachers and the school needs should you want to make your purchases early:
- Kleenex (teacher donation)
- Highlighters (teacher donation and/or student's personal supply)
- Blue/Black Pen (teacher donation and/or student's personal supply)
- Composition Notebook (used in Science classes only)
- Lots of Whiteboard Markers for classes as well as donations to the testing coordinator, Mrs. Hurd, to provide to Juniors during CAASPP Testing in March. Students use the windows, whiteboards, and their desks throughout the year to draw, illustrate, and work through problems. Both teachers and Mrs. Hurd (testing coordinator) need donations for the regular school year. Mrs. Hurd is requesting whiteboard markers for the Junior class to give them to use during state testing in March (donations needed by Winter Break so we know what we have left to order in time for testing).
- Snacks for AP testing (May) and CAASPP testing (March). Drop off in the office to Mrs. Hurd. It's never too early!
Remember, we are a paperless school and printing/using notebook paper is minimal. Should you decide to purchase paper, we recommend purchasing only a small supply. Students are issued Chromebooks and submit most of their work via Canvas.
-
Textbooks
Textbooks are not issued to students during our Panther Pick-Up (fall registration) days. Teachers will bring their classes to the Library to check out textbooks the first few days of the start of each new semester.
-
