Samuel is a recent graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a bachelors degree in Music Education. Prior to working at Oakmont, Samuel was the band director at Florence Markofer Elementary School in Elk Grove, CA before moving his class to a virtual medium during COVID. At that point, he began teaching online brass classes through the Mandarins Music Academy. Aside from teaching in public schools, Samuel also teaches with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps based in Casper, Wyoming. There, he scouts, auditions, and teaches talented musicians from around the world how to perform and compete at a world-class level—the highest level marching band has to offer.

 

On his spare time, Samuel enjoys snowboarding and going to watch his favorite sports team, the San Francisco Giants, with his partner. Together they enjoy keeping up to date with all things Marvel and taking care of their 2-year-old kitty, Peggy.
