My name is Steve Whedbee, I am the Construction Technology instructor here at Oakmont. I got my start at age 6 picking up blocks/scraps for my Dad. I helped my Dad during the summers before going off to college, receiving a Bachalor's degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley. After college I became a jouneyman carpenter while chasing an Olympic dream as a wrestler. In 1982 I got my General Contractors License and did that work until 2011. I then moved to Florida to work with my Dad again buying houses, fixing, renting and selling them. In 2016, I got my master's degree in Athletic Administration. Dad fully retired, so in 2018 I moved back to California teaching Construction Tecknology at Sierra College, in January 2021 I started teaching here at Oakmont. I spent a lot of years doing, now I am teaching and I enjoy it much more. I mentor Oakmont's CREATE Club where students enter design/build contests.  

I enjoy wrestling and coaching at the high school and college level especially freesyle and Greco Roman styles. I love spending time with my grandchildren.

My wife Patty and I live in our forever home where we enjoy visits from our 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
