Mrs. Kathryn Rinderle

Hello!  My name is Katie Rinderle.  This is my first year at Oakmont High School, but my 19th year teaching.  I am excited to be joining the Oakmont family and the Social Science team. I grew up and graduated with a degree in History and my teaching credential from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I started my teaching career in Texas and move to California in 2006, where I taught at Pioneer High School in Woodland, CA from 2006-2013. The past 7 years I taught for the Placer Union High School district, include Del Oro High School and Maidu Virtual Charter Academy.  In 2016 I recieved my Masters in American History from American Military University which has allowed me to teach a few sections for history for Sierra College.   While, I have taught a wide variety of different social science courses over my career include AP US history, AP Government and Dual Enrollment US and World Studies, this year I am teaching CP US and World studies.  My focus as a teacher is to not only teach important and interesting content but to help students develop high level critical thinking and writing skills that are transferable to all areas of learning and life.

I am married and have 2 young childern, Nathan who is 3rd grade and Abby who is in 1st grade.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, and reading.  I am also trying to reteach myself how to pay the piano.
