CTE Pathway 1: Business Marketing
Marketing jobs represent nearly one in every four jobs
in the U.S. economy. Marketing courses help you learn
and experience how the marketing process seeks to
establish and satisfy the needs and wants of individuals
who buy goods, services and ideas. Businesses of all
types and sizes, including non-profit organizations, use
marketing in their local, national and global operations
to move products and services from their origin to the
end-user. Industry Sector: Marketing, Sales, and Service- Introductory: Principles of Business (UC a-g, 10 credits)

CTE Pathway 2: Child Development
The focus of the Education Career Pathway is to prepare
students for personal and life management, and provide
a strong foundation for Family and Consumer Sciences
education related career paths. The course sequence
is designed to familiarize students with the broad aspects
of the education profession, philosophies, theories and
principles of caring for and teaching children in a variety
of settings. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students
will learn about: health/safety practices, careers in
Education, important philosophical and political changes
in schooling history, principles and processes of learning,
areas and stages of development in school-aged children,
principles of teaching, application of classroom
management and lesson planning in a supervised fieldwork
setting, anti-bias curriculum and cultural diversity,
professional responsibilities of teachers, and emerging
techniques and technologies that impact student learning
in educational settings. Industry Sector: Education,

CTE Pathway 3: Professional Music Performance
The pathway emphasizes the respect for traditions,
techniques and nuances of feel and groove through the
examination of the various eras and forms of popular
music repertoire, including rock, pop, R&B, folk, and
country. Students, in solo and small groups, utilize the
common instruments, including acoustic and electric
guitar, keyboards, saxaphone, and vocals. However, all
musical instruments have a place in the program.
Students will also study the business of the music
industry including songwriting, live performance, the
record industry, music merchandising, contracts and
licenses, and career opportunities.

CTE Pathway 4: Professional Photography
Students will develop digital photography
techniques as they experience a variety of professional
projects including studio lighting, photojournalism and
creation of a photographic series. The pathway will also
explore advanced Photoshop digital imaging techniques
and other industry standard skills. Students will examine
the work of famous photographers and develop a
professional portfolio as an exit project.
Students will end the pathway with a developed business
plan, real work experience and a portfolio of images.

CTE Pathway 5: Robotics
Through the process of designing and building remote
controlled and autonomous machines, students will
expand and strengthen their understanding of the
design process. Topics slated to be covered include:
navigating with GPS, underwater robotics, robotic
industry trends, solar powered robots, sensors and
grippers. This course is ideal for a student who wishes
to pursue college majors or careers in the fields of
robotics, mechanical engineering, computer science,
design and business. Industry Sector: Manufactoring
