Mr. Javier Valdivia

Spanish Teacher/Assistant Athletic Director/World Language Dept. Coordinator

Hola!  Mr Valdivia is very excited about beginning his new adventure as a West Park High School Panther!

"I have a passion for teaching Spanish because it is my native language. I am a native speaker who has also lived and continues to live through all cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries. I am always excited to share some of my experiences within the culture as part of our curriculum. Besides learning how to speak, read, comprehend and write  in Spanish, I stress the importance of being responsible, mature, focused and respectful in the classroom. Valuable traits that will help my students way beyond their high school years"

Prior to joining the West Park team, Mr Valdivia was fortunate to open Antelope HS as a Spanish teacher and head baseball coach/Assistant AD. Prior to Antelope HS, Mr Valdivia spent 11 years at Woodland HS as a Spanish teacher and also served as a baseball coach. Mr Valdivia has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Chico State and  teacher credentialed from Sacramento State with a Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development emphasis.

Away from school, Mr Valdivia likes to spend time with his "familia", making wonderful memories with his wife and two boys.  I am honored to be part of the inaugural staff that opened West Park High School in 2020-2021.

GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!

"I value people by listening to them and helping positively shape their futures".
