About Roth
Hey there! I'm Mr. Roth and I started teaching in 2014, initially as a middle school technology teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. I came to Woodcreek in 2019 and am our Graphic Design/Screen Printing teacher.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter in the great outdoors, doing freelance graphic design work and screen printing, and shoes (yes, shoes).
You can reach me at aroth@rjuhsd.us.

Graphic Design Pathway
Our graphic design classes focus on Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and screen printing. Students are able to start off with an introduction in Graphic Design 1 and continue to learn more with Graphic Design 2 and will be able to earn college credit through Sierra College in Graphic Design 3.
Below is a breakdown of each course 👇
-
Graphic Design 1
This is our introductory course to the Graphic Design Pathway. The focus of this course is on the basics of graphic design and screen printing.
In our lab and shop we learn how to use software from the Adobe CC Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as have the opportunity to print 3-4 projects in the shop.
-
Graphic Design 2
This is the second course in our Graphic Design Pathway. In Graphic Design 2 we build on what was learned in the first course.
We continue to learn more about graphic arts with more student choice in which areas to focus on. In the shop students will have the opportunity to print 3-4 projects.
It is anticipated that students complete Graphic Design 1 prior to taking this course.
-
DE Graphic Design 3
In this course, the focus will be on the content area the student is interested in and they will work with Roth in determining a capstone project to showcase the skills they have gained. Capstone students will also play a role in the Woodcreek productions for the school.
This is a Dual Enrollment Course with Sierra College for their AAD 0070 and will help students earn college credit upon completion. There will be projects in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign as a part of this course.
Dual Enrollment courses are meant to be for Juniors and Seniors and this course would come after a student takes Grpahic Desgins 1 and 2.
