Miss Abbey Wade
My name is Abbey Wade and this is my first year teaching and coaching Girl's Volleyball at Woodcreek High School. I teach to help students get closer to being the best version of themselves both physically and mentally by instilling values such as integrity, resilience, and empathy. Health and Safety is unlike any other class that students will take in high school. The content allows for students to immediately implement things they've learned into the own lives to become healthier every single day. My students make my job so enjoyable, I look forward to coming to work every single day because of them!
Random facts about me:
My parents live one block away from me in the house I grew up in. My sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew live on the same street I do, and only three houses down.
I recieved my PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification in Thailand in 2015. Since, I have been diving in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef and in Hawaii.
I played volleyball all four years in college: 1 year at Western Nebraska Community College, 3 years at University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
I have recently been experimenting with different recipes since a close family member of mine was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that can be managed with a special diet called AIP which is similar to Paleo but even more restrictive. This gave me an even stronger passion for nutrition (one of my favorite units in Health).
I have a crazy but sweet orange tabby cat named Prince that I adore!
I am over-the-moon to be here at Woodcreek! I'm looking forward to the great year ahead.
