Jennifer Adams teaches social sciences at Oakmont High School. She previously taught Language Arts, History, and Spanish in Huntington Beach, California, where she grew up. She also spent two years teaching at a private school in Utah. Mrs. Adams earned a Bachelor's degree in History at Brigham Young University. A Study Abroad Program in Madrid, Spain marks as the highlight of her college experience. Living in Spain and visiting Europe on several other occasions underscore her zest for all things ancient. A special birthday craving for cobblestones took her to Boston, where she drank in as much American history as she could manage in a week's time. A month-long family motorhome trip as a youngster from Southern California to the Eastern Seaboard and back again may have been the genesis of her love of history and travel.
History and travel are not the only ways Mrs. Adams enjoys spending her time. She has a lifelong love for ballet. She delighted in being a member of Brigham Young Univeristy's nationally-recognized Ballroom Dance Team. The art of fencing is a more recent addition to her hobby collection. She's also been known to create a decadent dessert from time-to-time (typically more than once a week.) Mrs. Adams swam for her high school team and followed that experience as an assistant high school swim coach. She now enjoys watching her children swim, who have all decided that breast stroke is their strength, just like mom.
