Alissa Bezinque

Alissa Bezinque has over 20 years of experience as an all-ages music educator, and enjoys bringing elements of other cultures into her classroom. She joined the district as a choir teacher in 2017 at Oakmont High School. She is excited to continue sharing her passion for music with piano students at West Park High School. Her love of playing piano and choral singing began in childhood and became a driving passion at Del Campo High School. The decision to continue her education at American River College was almost entirely determined by her desire to sing in the choir directed by Ralph Hughes. She went on to earn a B.A. in Vocal Performance from BYU–Hawaii where she performed solos in operas, musicals, recitals and choral concerts and won vocal talent awards and scholarships every semester. She loves performing vocal jazz (especially bossa nova), musical theater, classical art songs and opera, and karaoke (especially in Tagalog).

After college, Mrs Bezinque opened her own music studio teaching piano and voice lessons. Over the years, she has directed dozens of musical productions, including recitals, school programs, and concerts for elementary, middle, high school students. As a piano and voice teacher, Mrs. Bezinque prides herself on teaching music fundamentals to instill confidence. She loves working with students to expand their musical tastes and expression as musicians.

In addition to music, Mrs. Bezinque loves going to the beach, watching SF Giants games, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Bezique's husband teaches social science at Cordova High School. She has four kids who also love to sing!
