I enjoy poetry and art, and the more active side of me enjoys swimming, hiking, and just simply hanging out in nature.  I have been teaching for thirteen years and most recently have been teaching at Independence High School since 2009. I teach 9-12th grade English, AP Language, and will be helping with Orientation classes and teaching a few electives this year.  I earned my Masters of Education in Literacy and Digital Learning from the University of San Diego in January 2017 and enjoy helping students utilize technology in the classroom, and more importantly, learning from them.

Other tidbits about me - I married my high school sweetheart, Rusty, and we have two grown children, Caleb and Paige. My husband and I enjoy wine tasting and traveling to tropical locales to scuba dive. My next challenge I am undertaking will be learning to sail.
