Bonjour :)

My name is Céline Genève, I am a French native who grew up near the border between France and Switzerland. I came to the United States after doing an exchange program as a high schooler. Like many of the students in my classes, I dreamt about traveling to put my language skills to use and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to come to this country to do so. I have now lived here over 20 years, but I still go back to France & Switzerland every summer to be with my family and friends and to reimmerse myself in my culture. 

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I received my teaching credential in 2004. I started my career teaching high school French in Sacramento before moving back to Europe for a few years to be closer to family. I have been teaching at Granite Bay for 5 years and I am starting my second year at Roseville. I feel privileged to teach French at such great schools, where we have amazing French programs that lead students from complete beginners to masterful effective real world communicators. 

I am passionate about exposing my students to a different culture, a different language and a different way of looking at our world. I believe that learning French opens a window into a world of possibilities for our students and I feel lucky to be a part of their journey.
