Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Martha von Esmarch
Mrs. von Esmarch was raised in scenic Stockton, California. Graduating from A.A.Stagg High School in 1966, she attended San Francisco State for 2 1/2 years, leaving due to student strikes. (It was the 60s, remember.) She then attended the University of the Pacific, which was 2 blocks from her family home. After that year, she returned to SFSC, from which she graduated and earned her secondary credential in 1973. (gasp)
Teaching jobs being rare at the time, she and her husband had 4 children (seemed like a good idea --still does). During this era, the family lived in the Bay Area, and Mrs. v worked as an instructor at the YMCA.
In 1982, the family moved to Roseville, where the children attended local schools, graduating from Oakmont. Mrs. v subbed for both Roseville City Schools and RJUHSD. She also volunteered at her children's schools and served as reader for the Oakmont English department, while working as a tutor in the afternoon. In 2004, she was offered a part-time position at Woodcreek and came on full-time the following year. Since then, she has taught all levels of high school English (including A.P. Lit. but excluding A.P. Lang).
