Ms. Schaefer has been teaching NGSS Biology and AP Biology at Woodcreek High School for 19 years. This coming year, 2023, she will also be teaching Psychology/ Sociology. Ms. Schaefer attended Beloit College and Portland State University and has degrees in Biology, Geology and a Master's degree in Science Education. She recently received a Master's degree in Psychology: Professional Clinical Counseling from Umass Global and has an associate's counseling license with a concentration in PTSD and Substance Use Disorders.

Prior to starting her teaching career, she worked as a chemist at Tektronix in Oregon for 8 years before moving to California. She has identical twins, 22-year-old sons, who both are in the 82nd Airborne as paratroopers with the end goal of becoming firefighters.

She completely enjoys all aspects of science and hopes that all of her students continue their science education after high school.
