Matt Long is entering his 8th year at Woodcreek High School as a member of the English department. Throughout the years, he has taught English 9, English 12, as well as different levels of the English Language Development (ELD) program. Mr. Long graduated in 2008 from CSU San Bernardino with a degree in English Linguistics and Language Acquisition, followed by a Master's Degree in Education from National University, with an emphasis on Instructional Practices in the Classroom.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Mr. Long played collegiate baseball for CSU San Bernardino, setting the career Wins record, as well as career and single-season Strikeout totals. After college, he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2008 and played two seasons of minor league baseball prior to retiring to start his family and teaching career.

Mr. Long is married to his beautiful wife Megan going on 13 years now, and has three amazing daughters Chelsea, 11, Brooke, 9, and Adelyn, 6.
