Ms. Lisa Edmisten

Lisa Edmisten has 23 years of experience teaching high school students, specializing in English, ELD, and Journalism.  She has also taught independent study courses in all subjects and served as a tutoring coordinator.  Lisa earned her secondary teaching credential in English with a supplementary in World History from CSU Sonoma.  She holds a BA in Communication from UC San Diego.  Lisa began her teaching career in the North Bay Area as an assistant in SPED at Terra Linda High School.  After earning her credential, she taught at Tamalpais High School before moving to Woodcreek High School in Roseville, CA, where she has taught for the past 14 years.  She currently teaches English 9 and ELD courses while overseeing the school’s ELD Program and piloting a new Peer Tutor Program in which trained tutors are sent into classrooms to work alongside struggling learners.  Outside the classroom, Lisa serves as advisor for the ELD Mentor Program, the school newspaper, and the STOP Club.  In 2010 and 2015 she was recognized by the Association of School Administrators as a "Teacher Who Makes a Difference."  In May 2016 she was recognized by the Roseville Joint Union High School District with an “Award of Excellence.”
