Hi there! Welcome, and buckle up to the digital age! I'm excited to learn alongside you :)

This will be my fifth year teaching English literature and language at Woodcreek High School. I also coach swimming and am a part of the Equity Team here at Woodcreek.  Before that, in the Bay Area (2014-2016) and Japan (2010-2011).  This year, I am teaching English 10 and ELD 3.  I am enthusiastic to curate a comprehensive learning environment which challenges all students to be reflective, respectful, and responsible in all academic endeavors.  I'm most passionate about seeing students connect with each other and to the text, but beyond this, witnessing the connections students organically make themselves and share.  

On a personal note, I love culture and travel.  I've been to every continent (sans Antarctica), and learn exponentially from what other cultures and ways of life offer.  I enjoy baking, hiking, swimming, yoga, and reading for fun.  

I look forward to this 2020-2021 year.  Each class period is different, and I'm excited to meet all who attend Zoom and eventually room 401 :)
