Raymond Beck

Mr. Raymond Beck is currently teaching PE 10, Modified PE, and Athletic PE.  This is his 23rd year teaching and 24th year coaching high school.  He received his BS in Business Administration/Marketing in 1997.  He then went on to receive his Single Subject Credential from Champan University. He started his career in 1997 at Mercy High School in Red Bluff teaching Physical Education and coaching JV Football and Varsity Girls Basketball, and then in 1998 moved on to Sutter Union High School were he taught Physical Education, Health, and Technology courses and coached JV Football and Varsity Girls Basketball.  He has been teaching at Woodcreek High School since 2001 in both the Physical Education Department teaching PE 9 and PE 10 and Athletic PE and Business/Technology Department teaching Sports and Entertainment Marketing,  Computer Applications, Web Design, Accounting, Business Law, Entrepreneurship, and Timberwolf Graphics. In addition to teaching at Woodcreek he as Coached Girls Basketball since 2001, and been the Head Varsity Coach since 2006.  He has also served as the Girls Golf Coach and spent a couple years as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach.  In addition to his above degrees, he has a certificate from UC Davis in Sports and Event Management and extensive coursework in Physical Education from Butte College, Chico State, University of San Diego,  and Fresno Pacific.

Mr. Beck played basketball at Butte College, Dominican University, and California State University, Chico. He credits Coaching Basketball at his alma mater, Durham High School  and football for his old High School Coach at Paradise High School as what drew him into teaching. He also credits his high school PE teacher and baseball coach as a main instructional influence that led to his first two PE teaching positions. He is married to Donna Beck who he met while at Chico State.   They have 2 daughters, Kaylie 15, and Kaitlyn 13, and a new puppy named "Wilson". In his spare time he enjoys running the Wolf Pack Basketball Club and watching his daughters play basketball, volleyball, and sand volleyball, and simply spending time with family and friends.
