Mr. Ryan Varrelmen
I've been teaching art for 11 years throughout Sacramento. Ever since I was a little kid I always loved to draw. It wasn't until I was in high school that I began to explore other mediums of art and start drawing realistically which led to commissioned drawings. Right after high school I attended American River College where along with core classes I took several art classes to expand my artistic skills. At ARC I was introduced to more advanced drawing classes and printmaking. I then transferred to Sac State and was exposed to more mediums of art such as oil and acrylic paints and ceramics. I graduated from Sac State with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts. While earning my Bachelor's degree I continued to get commissions for drawings, pet portraits and murals for nurseries. I then stayed at Sac State to earn my teaching credential.
After receiving my teaching credential I taught art at various middles schools and high schools throughout Sacramento. I started teaching Ceramics here at Antelope High School in 2011. I also teach AP Studio Art and Art 1.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, going to Disneyland, and coaching my son's baseball team.
