Degrees and Certifications:
I have taught the Social Sciences at the secondary level for almost 20 years, including 7 years at Antelope High. My experience includes teaching World Studies, U.S. History, Government, Economics, and A.P. European History. I enjoy teaching young people the importance of studying history and becoming critical thinkers. By studying history, I hope they understand how they can positively affect the world they live in now and in the future.
I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for my first 3 years of undergraduate studies, before graduating with a B.A. in Social Science and Single Subject Teaching Credential from Sacramento State. I have attended hundreds of hours of professional development conferences over the past two decades, including A.P. Institutes for European History and Human Geography. This summer, I plan to attend a week long A.P. Institute for American Government.
Outside of the teaching profession, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my wife of 18 years, and my two young daughters. We love to hike, mountain bike, camp, fish, gold prospecting, and backpacking.
