She started teaching at Antelope Valley High School immediately, while she earned her teaching credential and Master's at California State University, Bakersfield. She taught at Antelope Valley High School for seven years. In 2007, Katie and her husband moved to the Sacramento area after applying for a teaching job at the brand new Antelope High School. She currently teaches Academic Lab A (English) and Academic Lab C (Tutorial Support Class). With both classes, her goal is to graduate her students successfully into the general education curriculum in order for them to earn a diploma.
