Mrs. Marie-France A.-Galvan
Señora Galvan
Sra. Galvan has been a Spanish teacher at Oakmont High School since 2015. She is a native Spanish speaker who was born in Caracas, Venezuela and made her home in the U.S. when her family had to relocate for her mother's diplomatic assignment at the Venezuelan Consulate in San Francisco, California. After completing high school, Sra. Galvan pursued a Bachelors' degree in Developmental Psychology from San Francisco State University and later, her teaching credentials from Fortune School of Education in Sacramento.
Prior to coming to Oakmont High School and while raising her three sons, Sra. Galvan worked with the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District in different capacities. The last seven years before starting to teach Spanish, she worked as a substitute teacher for RJUHSD and DCJESD until her youngest son graduated from high school. She started teaching Spanish in 2012 at Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, and also filled a temporary position at Mesa Verde High School before joining the Oakmont High School community of educators.
During her free time, Sra. Galvan enjoys spending time with her husband, their adult children and their Pomeranian dog, Pythia; as well as with her extended family and friends. She also loves scrapbooking and traveling to any vacation spot where she can enjoy sun and water.
Sra. Galvan enjoys working with the Oakmont profesional team, the students and their families, and looks forward to many more years of service to this amazing community.
