I have been in education since 1986 when I started teaching at my alma mater, Oakmont High School. I attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, a liberal arts school where I had the opportunity to study abroad in Yucatan, Mexico two trimesters during my sophomore and junior years and in Spain at the Universities of Salamance, Complutense Madrid and Granada my senior year. I am a nationally recognized coach at the National TPRS and iFLT Conferences.
I met my husband in 1988, when he was subbing at Oakmont. We have two beautiful, kind and intelligent sons, Nathaniel and Isaac who attended Oakmont and Sonoma State. We have been fortunate to be able to travel, hike, snorkel together. My greatest passion is to learn, so recently I have taken up various hobbies that have to do with fiber arts: spinning, weaving and knitting and have become a Padi certified diver.
