Mr. Kelly Borgeson
Kelly Borgeson began teaching at Oakmont High School in January of 2003. Throughout his career he has taught a wide breadth of curricula, ranging from college-prep history, social psychology, and both Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate history courses. He is currently a teacher of Advanced Placement European History and serves as a reader for the Advanced Placement program. Kelly regularly engages in professional development, attending professional institutes to keep up with current trends and strategies that are practical and effective for social studies students.
Kelly was reared in a diverse intellectual environment which helped him develop an interest in a wide range of things. Coming from a marine biologist father and ballet director mother, Kelly has a fascinating palate of backgrounds he brings to the classroom to help liven up the dense content of European history. Traditionally known for his fascination for European cheeses, Kelly also has a love for music and art, and incorporates these into his coursework. He hopes that these nuances will attract the attention of his students and help them foster a love of the past.
