Mr. Tim Moore

Coach Moore grew up near Folsom Lake in unincorporated Roseville, now called Granite Bay, CA, and attended Oakmont High School ('91). After earning his degree in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Montecito, CA, he returned to Roseville to teach and coach. Prior to coming back to Oakmont High School as an educator, he taught and coached one year at Victory Christian High school and 3 years at W.T. Eich and Buljan middle schools. In the fall of 2000, he accepted a teaching position in mathematics and coaching positions for baseball and football at Oakmont High School. In 2004 he received the "RJUHSD Distinguished Teacher" award and in 2020 was named Oakmont's "Teacher that Makes a Difference". In 2009, Coach Moore accepted the position of head football coach and transitioned into the physical education department to teach weight training and conditioning, advanced weight training and conditioning and athletic physical education. In 2021, he was hired to lead Oakmont's Athletics Department as the Athletic Director. In 2022, Coach Moore received the Norm MacKenzie New Athletic Director of the Year Award for the Sac Joaquin Section. His Purpose Statement that guides his work as the AD is, "I Lead to Inspire our coaches to teach their student athletes Courage, Commitment and Character!"

Coach Moore raised two sons who also attended Oakmont HS. His oldest son, Tanner (2016), graduated from Caltech (2020) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace. Tanner is currently working for a company called AeroVironment which is located in Simi Valley, CA, just minutes away from his home in Conoga Park. His love for aerospace engineering is being fueled daily with many challenges and experiences that he is not allowed to share with those of us without the proper clearance. When Tanner isn't designing and testing flying objects, he fills his time with water skiing, getting together with his friends from college (including his girlfriend) and watching anything Star Wars. His youngest son, Casey (2018), is a musician, piano teacher and college student pursuing a degree in music while living in Portland, OR. Song writing, composing, playing multiple instruments and singing are just a few of his hobbies. Seven years to the day after meeting his best friend and love of his life, he and his now wife Julie were married at their home surrounded by immediate family and a few of their closest friends. Beyond spending time with family and friends, Coach Moore loves the water. If he's not teaching, coaching or maintaining his home, he is most likely cruising the Sacramento River on his boat or enjoying an early morning ski on Folsom Lake or Clementine Lake when Tanner visits. Other hobbies include camping, fishing, mountain biking, smoking meat and attending college football games in which his former players are competing in.
