Ms. Loretta Saenz

Loretta Saenz, Teacher Librarian, came to Oakmont High School in 2012. Moving from the foggy coast of Humboldt County, Ms. Saenz brings with her over 30 years of educational experience. Starting out her career as a science teacher in 1985, she spent the next 16 years teaching many courses in both the physical and biological sciences. Eventually, her love of technology, information, research and literature led her to returning to school in 2000 to earn her Teacher Libraian Credential. After serving first as Teacher Librarian for Eureka City Schools, then as County Office of Education Librarian, Ms. Saenz returned to the sunny part of California  and the current position of Teacher Librarian of OHS.

Having settled in Auburn CA near the beautiful American River, Ms. Saenz is able to spend time walking the local trails with her two dogs and otherwise exploring her scenic surroundings. Reading, quilting and gardening are additional passions that keep her busy when not at school.
