Mrs. Breanna Ehrig
My name is Breanna Ehrig and I have been teaching at Oakmont since 2014. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Science, with a concentration in Nutrition and Food from California State University, Sacramento. I also earned my teaching credential in Family and Consumer Science from California State University, Sacramento. In Spring 2017, I received a Master of Arts in Education from Brandman University, with an emphasis in Teaching and Learning. I have completed multiple culinary trainings at the Art Institute, and also through the Home Economics Careers & Technology state department. In 2015-2016 I was named one of the Placer County Teachers Who Make a Difference, and was a co-advisor for FCCLA.
I teach Intro to Food and Beverage, Culinary Techniques, and Advanced Culinary Techniques. These are CTE (Career Technical Education) classes that focus on integrating academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity for college and careers, while also teaching them life skills that they can use every day. I also run Café La Bleu, Oakmont’s on campus café, which is part of the curriculum for students enrolled in Culinary Techniques and Advanced Culinary.
Outside of school I love to spend time with my husband and two dogs. I enjoy cooking, hiking, gardening, reading, and shopping! My husband and I also love to travel, and have most recently visited the east coast, Hawaii, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, and Ireland.
