Mrs. Liane Baldwin
In 2001 I started my teaching career in the Elk Grove Unified School District. I taught at Laguna Creek High School and Sheldon High School for a combined 11 years before moving to RJUHSD where I have been since 2013. I have taught everything from intervention English courses designed to help students who are reading and writing far below grade level to AP Literature and Composition and was a yearbook adviser for 9 years. In addition to my teaching assignments this year, I am also serving as the site testing coordinator, WASC committee chair, and the co-EE coordinator for the IB Diploma Programme. I am also an ERWC presenter through SCOE.
While teaching is my heart, I have many interests outside of the classroom. I love to cook and have an extensive cookbook collection. I love experimenting with new cuisines and ingredients and adding interesting dishes to our weekly dinner rotation. I am a big believer in "bake therapy" and often find myself in the kitchen making cookies as a way to relieve the stresses of the day. Not surprisingly, I am also an avid reader, I always have a book or two going -- usually one fiction and one non-fiction, and Iḿ always looking for new works that I can use in my classroom either as a resource for a lesson or as a book recommendation for my students.
I consider myself to be a life-long learner and am excited to be working towards a Masters Degree in Language and Literacy through CSUS and plan to continue on with the doctoral program in Fall of 2021. I currently serve as an article reviewer for the Journal of Transformative Leaderhsip & Policy which affords me many opportunties to explore the latest reasearch on educational leadership and practical pedagogies.
