Mrs. Simon grew up in a small town of Placerville, CA.  She attended Ponderosa High School and had the opportunity to play volleyball in five European countries.  Mrs. Simon continued playing volleyball for American River College in Sacramento until 2000.  She transferred to San Diego State University obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education.  She also continued to further her education obtaining her Master's in Education from Cal State San Marcos.  Mrs.Simon has been teaching for 13 years; 6 years in San Diego, 1 year at Cooley MS and 6 years at RHS.  She enjoys coaching and playing volleyball, snowboarding, wakeboarding, shopping, exercising and any sport that bring competition.  She is very passionate about teaching students how to take proper care of their bodies through various types of workouts.  She believes building character through intense, fun and challenging activities will help students have a positive attitude, treat others with respect and be mentally well-balanced therefore achieving their goals inside as well as outside the classroom.
