Behavior Threat Assessment and Management
Roseville Joint Union High School District has implemented Behavior Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) teams at each of our school sites. The BTAM protocol has been designed to help prevent acts of targeted violence in our schools. This does not predict targeted violent acts or profile individuals who may commit them. Instead it provided a structured process to assess and address situations that pose potential risks to our campuses. The BTAM process is a process to intervene with persons of concern to interrupt the pathway to violence.
Our BTAM teams are based on a core multidisciplinary group, administration, mental health and law enforcement. This diverse team brings together multiple perspectives to review the reported behaviors of the individuals of concern, considering the totality of the circumstances. The team is then able to identify, investigate, assess and, if necessary, manage the individual to support a safer school environment.
