International Exchange Program

The Roseville Joint Union High School District (RJUHSD) recognizes the value of interactions between students of different countries and cultures in promoting global awareness and international understanding in an increasingly globalized and interconnected world. The District welcomes the enrollment of international exchange students in our schools and encourages our students to take advantage of opportunities that they may have to participate in such programs and study in another country.

International Exchange students shall be accepted only from organizations whose exchange program has been approved by the Department of State. Enrollment shall be for one semester or one school year.

The District will approve all J-1 foreign exchange student applications that can be accommodated at each comprehensive site. The J-1 visa program is considered to be a "cultural exchange" program. Therefore, many facets of placement other than just the school are considered to be important parts of the exchange. One important placement factor is that J-1 secondary students may not be placed with relatives, and there are absolutely no exceptions. They may, however, live with family friends.

The District does not accept any F-1 visa or issue I-20 forms.
