Current Pilots
English Language Development (ELD)
We are currently in a pilot year to review and adopt updated instructional materials for all four levels of our ELD courses. Our goal is to ensure the materials we use with our English Learners will engage them in highly challenging tasks that accelerate their acquisition of English. We are seeking a high-quality curriculum that is designed to promote the development of central ideas and language conventions needed in all disciplines.
Our English Language Development teachers selected two curricula for each level to pilot.
- ELD 1
- ELD 2, ELD 3, and ELD Seminar
The ELD teachers will receive curricular support from each vendor before they implement selected units from each publisher. They will evaluate the effectiveness of the resources and materials based on the California ELD Standards and the California ELD Framework before selecting one for each level for board approval. Parents and guardians are invited to review the selected materials for the pilot and provide feedback that can inform the selection process.
Health
We are currently in a pilot year to review and adopt updated instructional materials for our 9th-grade Health course. Our goal is to ensure students receive relevant, accurate, and standards-aligned instruction that supports healthy decision-making and lifelong well-being.
Our Health Adoption committee has selected the following two curricula to pilot this school year:
Throughout this year, we will evaluate both publishers to select one for board adoption using clear criteria—including alignment to California Health Education Standards. As part of this process, we invite parents and guardians to preview the pilot materials and provide feedback.
Your voice is a valuable part of this adoption process. Thank you for partnering with us to support high-quality health education for all students.
