At this time (Fall of 2021) it is the recommendation of Roseville High School that students continue to attempt to take the SAT and/or ACT to provide for as many possible opportunities for college admissions and financial aid as possible.
Students who have a test score and are applying to test optional schools should consider the policies and admissions statistics of the school before deciding to submit those scores. College and career center staff is available to assist students with this decision.

    Comparing ACT to SAT

UPDATE as of 08/04/2020: CSU will not be considering SAT/ACT scores in their admissions decisions through 2021-2022. UC will not be considering SAT/ACT scores in their admissions decision through 2024. For private universities or out-of-state universities, check websites to see if they will be using SAT/ACT scores in their admissions decisions.

    ACT (@ACT) | Twitter

You must register online for both ACT and SAT tests.
    ACT: www.actstudent.org/start
    SAT: www.sat.collegeboard.org

You have the option to send up to four score reports at no additional charge. More score reports can be added for an additional fee. Scores sent after the testing date will be charged separate fees. Universities use your best scores in admissions decisions, so we recommend sending all scores to selected schools at the time of test registration. To save money and maximize your four free score reports, you can:

    • Send SAT scores to one CSU and they will be available to all CSU schools

    • Send SAT scores to one UC and they will be available to all UC schools

    • Use the code 9999 to send SAT scores to the NCAA (for athletic eligibility)
