Oakmont Hall of Fame Inductee - 2017
Ted Acres- Oakmont Faculty and Coach (1967-1997)Coach Acres coached football 5 years, boys (5 yrs.) and girls (11 yrs.) tennis, and baseball for 20 years (17 as head varsity coach). In that time, he became known as one of the most competitive, yet knowledgeable, baseball coaches in the Sacramento area. He coached the School’s first major league player, Rich Rodas. He coached 7 league champions (5 SFL, 1 CVC, 1 CAL) as a head coach and one as an assistant. He also had one section champion (1980). His 1997 team was ranked number one by the Bee and still holds the northern California record with 54 home runs hit. His boys tennis teams twice were SFL Champs.
