•  Athletic Clearance for 2020-2021


    Every student wishing to physically participate in any Oakmont Athletics summer activities, tryoutspractices, or contests must be cleared by OHS Athletics. As a part of the clearance process, every athlete is required to have a yearly physical from a qualified physician. The physical must be completed ON OR AFTER MAY 18, 2020. Please follow the directions below to complete the online clearance process. 
     
    SUMMER BREAK INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATHLETIC CLEARANCE AND RECEIVING YOUR TICKET TO TRY OUT
     
    After finishing the process and receiving the confirmation email that the athlete has been cleared please email Athletic Director John Hunter at jhunter@rjuhsd.us requesting your final clearance paperwork. We will be working to clear athletes on a regular basis through June 30th. We will resume summer time Athletic Clearance July 20th, 2020. Please allow 2-3 days for a response back following your request. You must take a printed copy of your TICKET TO TRYOUT to your coach before you can begin any physical activities with an OHS Athletics program.

    Online Athletics Clearance Process 

    To begin the clearance process please visit the ATHLETICS CLEARANCE online site to get started.  You will have to sign up for each sport your athlete would like to participate in, in order for OHS to see if they have been cleared or not.  Please allow 24-48 hours after you’ve uploaded the physical and completed all of the online portions for the administration to fully clear your athlete.  If you have not received an email after that time confirming that your athlete has been cleared, it is probably due to incomplete forms or a failed upload of the physical.  Please follow the directions below – there is also a troubleshoot to walk you through going back after the account has been created to upload the physical form.

    ***PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE STARTING***

    1. Print and bring the Health History and Physical Exam Form to your doctor to complete. Make sure to bring the Health History and Physical Exam Form with you to your appointment.

    2. Get your athlete's STUDENT ID # from them or your Homelink account. If you are an incoming freshman and do not have access to your Homelink account please enter "000000".

    3. Once your physical form is completed you can start the online process

    4. Start the online process at Athletic Clearance – http://www.athleticclearance.com

    5. Register for an account – using the parent’s email address

    6. Once registered, find the Start Clearance Here tab – if you have more than one student-athlete attending OHS, you will need to add clearance for each. If your student-athlete plans on playing more than one sport, you will also need to sign up for each sport individually.

    7. Fill in all of the information on the student information page – NOTE:  you must have insurance or purchase the school insurance for your student-athlete to be cleared.

    8. UPLOAD BOTH PAGES of the completed Health History and Physical Exam Form to the site toward the bottom of the student information page. Please make sure not to load it just into the library, but into the spot for the physical itself.

    9. Complete the medical history form

    10. Complete the Parent/Guardian Information page

    11. The athlete AND the parent will need to electronically “sign” the required sections as prompted.

    12. Submit the clearance.

    13. You will receive a confirmation email when everything has been submitted and one when your student-athlete has been CLEARED by the school to participate that explains your final steps to get cleared.

    14. Once you have received the confirmation email that your child has been CLEARED by OHS Athletics (this may take a couple of days) have your athlete go to the Athletics Secretary Kathy Corbett in Student Services so your athlete can receive their TICKET TO TRY OUT that must be turned into their coach before they can participate.

    15. IF IT IS SUMMER BREAK: After finishing the process and receiving the confirmation email that the athlete has been cleared please email Athletic Director John Hunter at jhunter@rjuhsd.us requesting your final clearance paperwork.     16. If your athlete would like to participate in more than one sport, you need to sign up for each sport individually. Simply click on the “Start Clearance Here!” and when you hit the “Student Information” page, select your athlete on the drop-down option. Most information is saved, including your physical, but some will require you to resubmit. Go through the medical history, parent/guardian info, and signatures to be cleared for the additional sports.


    Physicals

    Physicals must be dated on or after May 18, 2020.  Please upload the completed form into the Athletic Clearance as part of the athletic clearance process.

    Athletic Eligibility

    Academic:
    2.0 GPA and pass 3 classes during the last grading period

    Citizenship:
    Clear all fines and detentions; meet training rules; abide by handbook guidelines 

    Residential:
    Complete Residential Eligibility Information form; transfer students must complete additional forms and meet with the Athletic Director to get cleared by both OHS Athletics and CIF SJS before they will be allowed to compete; approval by administration
