Freshman Sign-Up How-To
Before we get started, there are a couple of things families will need to complete by Wednesday 7/31:-
Return any books, devices, or property to the middle school you attended last year. We are not in the same school district as your middle school, so it's important you return your school materials to your middle school. (You may do this up through the first week of school.)
-
Parents must complete the following before arriving:
-
Registration Process - the process in which a student is enrolled into our school district (if you are receiving this email, you have most likely completed this step).
- Email from District - all families will receive an email from the district on Monday, 7/15 with information regarding your Homelink Account (parent portal). Once you receive this, you may continue the steps below.
-
Data Confirmation - this is a process each and every parent will complete each and every year, including your first year with us, which requires at least one parent/guardian to go through their account (or what we call parent portal) to confirm that all of the information is accurate and updated, such as emergency contacts. (Make sure you turn "ON" notifications should we encounter an emergency. Click here for more emergency preparedness info.) While logged in, locate your student's ID number - you will need this for #2 below.
- Student ID Number - write down the student's ID number (your student should memorize this number and never share it with friends. This number is used to make purchases at the Student Store and to get one free breakfast, one free snack, and one free lunch each school day.
- Freshmen Orientation Sign-Ups - You may sign up two (2) ways:
- Get your Class of 2028 Shirt (see step #6 below).
- Email jonsmith@rjuhsd.us (shirt and payment not required to attend Freshmen Orientation)
- Class of 2028 Shirt - Go online to our Online Student Store
- Select the "2028 Freshmen Orientation" to donate $20."
- Keep Shopping - Go online to our Online Student Store and select anything else you'd like to also purchase at this time, like PE clothes, Panther Pass (discounts all year long and free access to all home games excluding playoffs), yearbook, apparel, or other school merchandise! All items will be ready for pick-up during Panther Pick-Up Days at the physical Student Store located in the Admin Building.

Freshmen Orientation & PPD
To ensure we start off the year strong, we invite you to attend two (2) days to help you get ready!-
Day 1 (Thurs 8/1) - Panther Pick-Up Days (PPD) is a full day of time for you and your family to come and pick up the items you need to be ready for the first day of school, such as getting your photo taken, checking out your laptop, and paying for items at the Student Store (e.g. PE clothes, yearbook, Student Panther Pass which gives you discounts all year long and gets you into home games for free).
-
Day 2 (Fri 8/2) - Freshmen Orientation is a half-day that is led by our Link Crew team and upperclassmen who will be your mentors and will have activities for the Freshmen all year long. Orientation starts with an assembly in the morning and then you will break out into small groups for get-to-know-you activities, tours of campus, and so much more! Sign-up instructions are listed above under "Freshman Sign-Up How-To."
