SEARCHING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Start looking for scholarships as early as FRESHMEN year of high school! There are tons of opportunities available for high school students of all grade levels.

Apply to multiple scholarships! Start by searching for local or regional scholarships (for RJUHSD students, this would be Placer County or Greater Sacramento Region scholarships).

Dedicate a time every week to peruse the scholarship lists for new scholarships and to complete the application and essay(s) required.

TIP: Many scholarships have similar essay prompts. You can re-use essays and just make a few tweaks.

Yes, it is HARD to get scholarships! But just think… If you spend two hours on
one scholarship and you end up winning it, that’s quite the payout!

2. Filter by grade, deadline, type, or any heading you choose. Then click on the "Scholarship Name" for access to the web link or documents.
- It's recommended to filter by "Local" first and complete those scholarships that apply to you. You have a higher probability of winning a "Local" scholarship than a "National" one.
- These regional scholarships are not affiliated with your school or district. It is your responsibility to submit your applications and documents based on the instructions provided.
**IMPORTANT!!- Don't forget to come back to the Regional Scholarship Link and make a new copy to receive updated information. The copy you make is not automatically updated.

Check the scholarship opportunities available at the college you will be attending. Each college has its own specific scholarships available.

Ask your parents or guardians to ask their employer(s), banks, clubs, etc., if they offer a scholarship for dependents. (If you're employed, ask your employer.)

Start looking for scholarships as early as 9th Grade! There are opportunities available for all grade levels of high school.
