Oakmont Hall of Fame Inductee - 2022
Stefanie Simonsen - Student Athlete Class of 1993
Stefanie Simonsen ('93) played softball for 4 years with distinction. The pitcher was honorable mention for league her softmore year (10). Then, as a junior, she was named the Capital Valley Conference MVP, as well as the Sacramento Union Player of the Year and the Sacramento Bee Player of the Year. She had a 12-1 record with a 0.15 ERA, 104 strikeouts and only 8 walks. She hit .517 overall with 50 RBI. As a senior, she went 13-3 with 138 strikeouts and 0.21 ERA, while batting .451 with 44 RBI. In addition to All Metro, she was named to the All-State Softball team. In 1991, the Varsity Softball team won Oakmont”s first CVC Championship. The key moment was beating the Orange school for the championship. She also played in the Optimist Softball game during the 1993 season. Stefanie attended the University of Oregon on a softball scholarship. Team bonding was the best part of high school!
