    Rich Rodas - Student Athlete Class of 1977

           Rich Rodas (’77) was the first Oakmont baseball player to play in the majors, playing for the Dodgers in 1983-84. A four-year baseball player. He was a major cog in the ’77 SFL championship team, leading the area in wins on the way to a 10 win, zero loss, season with an ERA of 1.57. Rich  was not only selected to the All-SFL first team, he was selected for the All Metro Baseball team. The Vikes were the only Sac area team to finish in the top four section teams. He had an outstanding season at Sierra College and, at the age of 19, was signed by the Dodgers.
